Encountering the Opposition (Nehemiah 4:1–6:14)

Aim – Working within God’s will requires prayerful planning and His protection

Divisions:

I. Responding to Opposition (Nehemiah 4)

Principle: Working for God depends on prayerful obedience to stand against worldly opposition

II. Responding to the Poor (Nehemiah 5)

Principle: Working for God requires compassion for His people

II. Responding to Leadership Threats (Nehemiah 6:1-14)

Principle: Working for God requires wisdom and discernment from Him

“Call to the Wall” (Nehemiah 1-3)

Doctrine – The Cross for a Believer

Attribute – Provider

Aim – God transforms His people through circumstances that call for costly faith

I. God Transforms Nehemiah (Nehemiah 1:1-2:9)

Principle: God uses trials to shape our hearts to embrace His costly will

II. God Transforms His Remnant (Nehemiah 2:10-3:32)

Principle: God’s activity inspires believers to trust and follow Him, despite the cost
